Here's what we have!
Room for You: We have several guest rooms and a detached finished studio with upstairs bedroom available for overnight accommodations, available for short term stays. The zen room overlooks the pond where frogs sing you to sleep in a luxurious full size bed, with dressing table desk and TV for movies or practice DVDs. The smaller room has a murphy (wall) bed and a massage table, offering double duty as sleeping quarters and private practitioner space. Also great for artist retreats or personal sabbaticals, our workshop and exercise spaces can be tailored to meet your needs during your stay.
Room for Your Friends: An alternative to a private room, our common rooms in the spiral house have many comfy couches and sleeping bag spaces for economical and cozy group overnights; ideal for a base camp when heading into the Northern Cascades for full-day hiking and waterfall hunts.
Rain or Shine: Indoor spaces include crafting tables, painting easel, exercise equipment and mats in the studio and a full-sized shop with wood stove.
By Sunlight or Moonlight: Out-of-doors we have a large fire pit with surrounding camping areas, and there are peaceful decks that overlook the pond and creek as well as trails that lead to woodland meditation stations in all four directions. Camp site varieties range from in the clearing gardenside to deeply secluded creekside.
Seating, camping, and workshop spaces can easily accommodate groups of 1-2 to 25+, contact Danibelle for more information!
Here's what we need your help with!
Switchback Trails Blazing: The meditation stations, creekside paths, labyrinth clearing etc. are accessible by very rough trail for the fit and limber of foot - we'd like to make them accessible to all. The materials are here, we just need the hands to dig, rake, transport and install stabilizing beams etc.
Invasive Species Removal: Berries are delicious, we get that... and we have a wide variety of them that came down the stream as seeds, took root and have been climbing steadily ever since. It is a continuous and significant effort to keep them from choking out native plants, encroaching on the meadows, driveway and walkways etc.; help with maintaining the clearance and/or particularly with root removal then ground covering for longevity is requested.
Communal Kitchen Gardening: We at OSA are newcomers to the planting of seeds, tending of food gardens, harvesting and canning of yields. We are pleased to see veggies coming in, beanstalks growing tall, and are looking forward to nourishing ourselves with food grown on the land. Your participation in any or all phases of this cycle is welcomed and encouraged! We are also eager to progress further with our plans to build borders for raised beds, fencing from native woodland materials, and garden art and sculptures.
Swim Hole Restoration: Once upon a time, the pond here was designed and built as a swimming hole, with river rock-lined walkways, gentle pea gravel surfaces, and a water race with cistern fed by the creek to keep levels up during the hot, dry months to enjoy the soothing waters. 20+ years later, the grasses and berries have moved in and the race has become clogged. Trenching has been started to drain the pond for bottom surface maintenance, and the inlet has been located. Expertise in water system maintenance and management, equipment operators and strong backs are what is needed to restore this beautiful swimming hole for all to enjoy and appreciate our fresh waters.
Design, Development and Installation support on any of the following: Labyrinth, Permaculture Structures, Collaborative Art Installations, Medicine Wheel, Zip Lines, Ropes Course
